According to the case file, a 26-year-old resident of Volzhsky borrowed 500,000 rubles from relatives, but did not want to pay back the money. As a result, he decided to kill his girlfriend and go to jail. The incident happened in November last year.
Investigators found that the man came to visit his girlfriend, lured her into a bath, and tried to cut her throat. The woman resisted him, was able to knock out the knife and began to call for help. At that time, her mother and children were in the apartment. The attacker was frightened, ran out of the house without clothes and went to the police, where he stated that he had committed the murder. According to the department, the girl, who was injured in the neck and abdomen, managed to survive.
On Friday, the court found the man guilty of attempted murder and sentenced him to 7 years and 5 months in prison to be served in a strict regime penal colony. The verdict did not enter into force.
