The Murdoch media mogul family, which owns the Fox News channel, has decided to “move away” from former US President Donald Trump, as a result of which he has become less likely to appear on the channel, the Independent writes, citing sources close to Trump.
As one source told the publication, “Everyone understands that this is a ‘soft ban’ or ‘silent ban’, but whatever it is called, it shows how the Murdochs feel about Trump at this particular moment.”
It is noted that in recent days, Republican politicians who could potentially take part in the presidential race often appear on Fox News. However, Trump is not among them, who announced his intention to participate in November, but since then he has never been on the air of the channel. At the same time, Trump’s possible rivals appear on the channel regularly. In particular, Florida Governor Ron de Santis can be seen almost every week.
Some sources close to Trump claim that members of his team intend to put pressure on the channel ahead of the presidential race. Another part says they were made clear about the “soft ban” on the former president on Fox News.
