The Ecuadorian Social Security Institute (IESS) reported that it will invest $900,000 to improve its image. Every institution must work on its good reputation and favor of citizens, therefore in this case the best promotion is appropriate attention, something important in relation to its branches.
According to IESS, the company – after the tender – will be in charge of expanding the services provided to 3,755,000 branches and 600,000 pensioners who have access to their benefits. 65% of the campaign will be directed to television, 15% to social networks, 7% to radio, 6% to printed media, 5% to public roads and 2% to alternative media.
The decision was made after monitoring in which it was determined that 67% of the news about IESS was negative. But right there it was pointed out that they are due to claims from affiliated companies. Therefore, the first task of changing that vision would be to meet the needs that they require as contributors, especially in health centers that have constant problems with the supply of medicines and necessities.
IESS members retire between the ages of 53 and 73, depending on age, disability or disability.
Banco del Seguro Social asks the Council for Citizen Participation to launch a competition for the selection of representatives of branches and retirees
Testimonies of branches that go to the largest IESS hospitals in Guayaquil, Teodoro Maldonado Carbo and Los Ceibos, can be seen constantly on the networks and media. Both are attending medical specializations and often lack medicines, supplies and human resources. Although there are also branches that recognize improvements in health centers and external service providers.
Optimal health services and financial sustainability of the IESS pension system are currently two important challenges for the authorities, members and the state. There are expectations in the interdisciplinary commission that analyzes what is happening in social security and that hopes to propose actions for existence and improvement of management after the completion of its work.
Members regularly contribute and demand positive change in IESS. (OR)
