Representatives of the youth subculture “PMC Redan” were found in Belarus and Ukraine. In particular, in Gomel, police officers detained 200 people who, according to the department, are associated with the subculture. As noted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus, 183 of them are minors.
The teenagers were detained near the Sekret shopping center, where they had gathered “in response to appeals published on social networks and instant messengers,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs clarifies. The detainees are being checked. Adolescents under 16 years of age will receive warnings with registration with the juvenile inspectorate. Those who are older face additional administrative liability. At the same time, the Ministry of Internal Affairs is searching for those involved in the organization of the action and is considering the institution of a criminal case.
Also, mass fights involving representatives of the subculture in Kyiv, Kharkov, Lvov are reported by the Ukrainian media. Hundreds of teenagers were detained in these cities. In addition, the fight was prevented in Vinnitsa. At the same time, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine called these incidents “a flash mob organized by Russia.” On February 28, the National Police of Ukraine reported that 18 telegram channels and groups created for the “promotion” of PMC Redan were blocked in the country. One of the administrators, a 16-year-old teenager from Dnipro, was detained.
Recall that earlier teenagers who associate themselves with this subculture began to be detained in Russian cities due to violations of public order and mass fights.
“PMC Redan” is an informal association, its name refers to the Japanese manga and anime Hunter x Hunter (Hunter x Hunter), which mentions the criminal organization “Genei Redan” with spiders on the emblem. Followers of the subculture wear long hair and black clothes with the image of a spider with twelve legs.
