St. Petersburg students have developed a cream with proteins based on cobwebs, which heals and rejuvenates the skin. It is reported by RIA Novosti, referring to the information of the platform of the National Technology Initiative (NTI).

Startup SilkIns from ITMO University has developed cobweb-based proteins that are added to creams, heal cuts and eliminate skin defects and acne by stimulating intracellular processes in one to two weeks.

The basis of the development was the protein, which is obtained from the silk of tarantulas and silkworms. Insects give a special type of material, with special processing of which a suspension is obtained for the future cream. At the same time, each of the resulting proteins increases the rate of formation of new cells.

According to the creators, a cream with this composition heals cuts and burns, removes age spots, tones and rejuvenates the skin in the shortest possible time.

The company has already produced the first product line and is now in the process of obtaining a patent in Russia.
