The Kuibyshevsky District Court of St. Petersburg sent a man accused of an attempt on the life of an OMON officer into custody.
According to the joint press service of the St. Petersburg courts, the court granted the request of the investigation to choose a measure of restraint in the form of detention against Tigran Khachikyan. He is under arrest until April 23, 2023.
According to investigators, on the eve of the metro station “Gostiny Dvor” Khachikyan twice shot at a riot police officer from a hunting smooth-bore gun. The condition of the injured security official is assessed as serious.
The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation reported that during the inspection of the scene, two guns, a traumatic pistol and ammunition were seized. Searches are being carried out at the home of the accused, and a complex of forensic examinations has been appointed.
Khachikyan was charged today. He admitted his guilt in part. As follows from the materials submitted to the court, Khachikyan shares the views of the Artpodgotovka extremist and terrorist movement banned in the Russian Federation.
