UK extends sanctions against Russia

The British Foreign Office announced the expansion of sanctions against the Russian Federation in connection with the situation in Ukraine. It is reported by Interfax.

“Foreign Secretary James Cleverley today announced a new package of internationally coordinated sanctions and trade measures against Russia. In particular, a ban has been introduced on the export to Russia of everything that can be used for warfare, ”says a message published on the website of the British Foreign Office.

As noted in the document, “we are talking about spare parts for aircraft, radio equipment, electronic components that can be used in the Russian military-industrial complex, and, in particular, for the production of drones.”

Sanctions have been imposed on companies engaged in the production or repair of military equipment: Izumrud JSC, Elecon Plant JSC, Lomo JSC, Zvezda JSC, Sokol Plant LLC; 34 representatives associated with the two largest Russian defense companies Rostec and Almaz-Antey, as well as banks: Bank St. Petersburg, Uralsib, Bank Zenit, and MTS-Bank.

In addition, the All-Russian Research Institute of Experimental Physics, which is part of the state corporation Rosatom, as well as the All-Russian Research Institute of Technical Physics, were on the sanctions list.

The new sanctions list also includes 80 individuals. The sanctions, in particular, included Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Aeroflot PJSC Sergey Alexandrovsky; director of the aviation complex “Rostec” Anatoly Serdyukov; Executive Director of Rostec Oleg Yevtushenko; Director for Special Assignments of Rostec Nikolay Andrianov; First Deputy General Director of Rostec Vladimir Artyakov.

Sanctions were imposed on Rosatom CEO Alexei Likhachev, Gazprom Export CEO Elena Burmistrova, Gazprom Board Chairman Viktor Zubkov, Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas Rector Viktor Martynov.
