“Over the past day, the police carried out 443 preventive measures. During this time, we received 526 calls, including 15 reports of theft and 2 reports of car theft. 13 people were arrested for various offenses,” the law enforcement agencies specified.
“Gabriel”, which hit the North Island of New Zealand, caused large-scale flooding and landslides in its central and southeastern regions. 11 people were killed, 23 more are missing. More than 10 thousand people were evacuated from flooded settlements, some settlements were cut off from supplies, about 250 thousand inhabitants of the island remained without electricity and communications for several days.
