In the near future, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu may visit Ukraine, Israel Hayom newspaper writes, citing sources in the Israeli government.

According to the newspaper, Netanyahu may meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Ukraine. Sources say that the Ukrainian side has already sent Zelensky’s invitation to the Israeli government, but the dates for Netanyahu’s visit have not yet been agreed. Nevertheless, according to the interlocutors of the publication, the trip may take place “in the near future.”

According to the newspaper, Netanyahu had previously taken a neutral position on the situation in Ukraine, trying to “avoid disagreements with Moscow.” However, after his re-election, he began to take “cautious steps” towards Kyiv. After the re-election, the politician said in an interview with CNN that he was ready to become a mediator in the negotiations between Russia and Ukraine if Washington asked for it.

Recall that last week, Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen visited Kyiv for the first time since the outbreak of hostilities.
