In the Altai Territory, a mother burned her one and a half year old daughter alive in front of her eight-year-old son, reports the regional SU SK. The woman was detained, a criminal case was initiated under the article on the murder of a minor with special cruelty.
According to the investigation, on the afternoon of February 20, 2023, in the village of Urozhaynoye, Soviet District, a local resident brought her one and a half year old daughter to the warehouse. Having doused the girl with flammable liquid, the mother set fire to her in front of her 8-year-old son, after which she fled the scene. The child died from his injuries.
Investigators found that the family is registered as dysfunctional, in January of this year, the court limited the woman in parental rights.
A pre-investigation check is being carried out against the officials of the prevention system, whose duties included monitoring this family. On the fact of their actions or inaction, the issue of initiating a criminal case is being decided, the department added. The investigation of the case is controlled by the regional prosecutor’s office.
