The Junta de Andalucía is going to grant the titles of Favorite Sons of Andalusia of this year 2023 to the Almerian singer David Bisbal and, posthumously, to the Jerez-born artist Lola Flores, from whose birth this year marks its centenary, within the framework of the distinctions granted by the Andalusian Government for the day of the autonomous community that is celebrated on February 28.
This has been announced by the president of the Board Juanma Moreno on his Twitter account just a week after it is held at the Teatro de la Maestranza in Seville the act of delivering these distinctions.
“It is a great pride to announce that this 28F we will name two Favorite Sons of Andalusia“, Moreno has written to emphasize that one of the two recognized people is “an incomparable artist: Lola Flores. From Jerez, Andalusian by flag and loved by all. Her land admires her and gives her this recognition when she would be 100 years old, “added the Andalusian president.
In the same way, Moreno has announced that the other Favorite Son of this 28F will be David Bisbal from Almeria, “an artist who meets 20 years of career and adds more than 80 national and international awards in music”.
“My congratulations and gratitude for transmitting his passion for Andalusia wherever he goes”, added the president of the Board in reference to David Bisbal, who has already been awarded an Andalusian medal, and who will receive the recognition on the eve of this 28F Favorite Son of the city of Almería in an institutional act to be held on February 27 at the Maestro Padilla Municipal Auditorium from the capital of Almería.
