The owner of Claro and the richest man in Mexico, Carlos Slimputs up for sale an Italian Renaissance palazzo located on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan, NY.
It is a building with 25 rooms on five floors overlooking the center park and steps from the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
For the property, Slim is asking for US$80 million, the highest value ever collected in that area.
According to the luxury property sales and rental portal, Street Easy, the house was built in 1899 and 1901, and was designed by the firm Welch, Smith & Provot in the “palazzo” style.
The property has been declared a New York Historic Monument and is one of the few mansions in the area that belongs to a natural person.
“This is a rare and valuable asset that will stand the test of time, not only because of its architectural and historical significance, but also because of its prime location and infinite potential,” it reads.
