Russia preferred the development of the conflict in Ukraine to peace agreements and must “succumb”. This, according to RBC, was stated by French President Emmanuel Macron, speaking at a security conference in Munich.

In his opinion, today is “not the time” for a peaceful dialogue, because we have Russia, which has chosen to continue the conflict, to “intensify” it. At the same time, the French leader stressed, the Russian side should not win.

However, in the future, Macron believes, the West needs to prepare for a dialogue with the Russian Federation. “We need strength and courage to re-engage with Russia in order to find a sustainable solution. But it is clear that today is not the time for dialogue,” he said, advocating increased support for Ukraine and warning of the possibility of a protracted conflict.

In turn, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said he did not believe that the supply of tanks to Ukraine would contribute to the escalation of the conflict, Kommersant writes.

In his opinion, the chances of ending the conflict depend on how soon Moscow comes to the conclusion that the Russian Federation is not achieving its goals in Ukraine, the newspaper adds.

Recall that after the start of the NWO, the President of France continued to call his Russian colleague and offer assistance in achieving peace.

Russia itself has repeatedly stated that Ukraine and its Western allies are hindering peaceful dialogue.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky called the withdrawal of Russian troops to the borders of Ukraine in 1991 a condition for peace.
