The Union of the Tourist Industry of Belarus and the Russian Union of the Tourist Industry are considering the possibility of uniting the tourist areas of the two countries. According to Interfax, Filipp Guly, Chairman of the Board of the Belarusian Union of Tourism Industry, pointed out the need to optimize the work in the field of tourism between the two countries.
He clarified that we are talking about facilitating the visa regime, pooling responsibility funds, resolving logistical and other issues.
In turn, Alexander Osaulenko, director of the Turpomoshch Outbound Tourism Association, said that in order for Russians and Belarusians to travel freely between countries, a legal framework is needed.
Guly added that this year it is necessary to come up with a plan to optimize and improve working conditions between the Russian Federation and Belarus in terms of tourism, and by the beginning of 2024 recommend that the authorities consider amendments and additions in parliament. Then, in 2026–2027, it is planned to synchronize clear planning for the pooling of funds, bringing them to a single algorithm, he noted, emphasizing that existing obstacles significantly slow down the growth of tourist flow between countries.
