Montecristi, MANABI
The overturning of a truck that was carrying more than ten members of a family, caused the death of a five-year-old boy, and injured five other people, including the mother of the deceased minor, whose condition is critical until the morning of this Wednesday. The accident occurred on Tuesday afternoon.
The road accident occurred in the Las Pampas-La Solita section, a rural area of the Montecristi canton. According to the version of Geanella Montecé, grandmother of the deceased minor, these people were returning from a burial that took place on Tuesday afternoon in the Las Pampas commune and that the accident occurred when the car rolled off a hill.
The deceased minor was Jonaiker Adonis Saá Lucas, 5 years old, while the minor’s mother Jessenia Lucas Soledispa was admitted to a hospital in Manta.
According to versions that Montecé gave to radio Contact from Manta, apparently the truck was driven by a brother of the injured mother, whose vehicle would have turned off when he was going up a hill.
“They tell me that the owner’s truck always turned off, and now that same problem occurred when he was going up a hill, from there it rolled and overturned… we never thought something so painful would happen, I don’t know when this misfortune happened,” Montece declared.
