Police investigate possible femicide in the south of Quito; the victim was 25 years old

The residents of the La Ferroviaria sector, in the south of Quito, were surprised to learn that one of their neighbors, just 25 years old, had died in her apartment, located on Juan Bautista and Francisco Olmos streets. Some claimed to have heard a fight with her cohabitant on the morning of Friday, February 10.

Others told police that they saw their partner leave with a kitchen and that he was not seen again. At night the agents arrived at the apartment. Some relatives would have made the emergency call after receiving a message from the cohabitant in which he informed that the woman had lost her life. Since then the subject’s whereabouts have been unknown.

The woman was on the bed and covered with blankets; On her body, a picture of the Virgin of Guadalupe. She showed no stabbing or gunshot wounds; there was no blood, but she had bruises on her neck and arms.

The specialist agents carried out the removal of evidence, and the result of the autopsy is awaited to determine the exact cause of his death.

Freddy Raza, commander(s) of the Eloy Alfaro district, indicated that around 8:00 p.m., from the ECU911 Integrated Security Service, they were asked to advance to the sector. There they found that the woman was without vital signs.

Raza explained that the deceased had bruises on her neck and hands. He also stated that, within the investigation that was initiated, her cohabitant will be sought for investigative purposes, to find the possible perpetrator of her death.

The place was isolated so that the agents of the Directorate of Investigation of Crimes against Life, Violent Deaths, Disappearances, Kidnapping and Extortion (Dinased), Criminalistics and Legal Medicine can take the procedure. (YO)
