A man was saved from an attack by hitmen by hiding in his neighbor’s house, in Guayaquil; The driver of the vehicle in which he was traveling did not have the same luck

A man was killed when he was driving a vehicle in block 19 of Flor de Bastión, in the northwest of Guayaquil.

His companion managed to run out and hide inside the house of a neighbor in the sector to prevent the subjects from finishing him off.

This new attack by hitmen occurred on the afternoon of this Saturday, February 11. According to witnesses, a group of men on a motorcycle intercepted the driver of the vehicle and fired several shots at him, for which he died inside the car.

That was not the case of his companion, who was injured but managed to hide to save his life. He was taken to a nearby hospital while people called police personnel.

Uniforms from the Nueva Prosperina district arrived at the site and requested reinforcement from Dinased and Criminalistics units to carry out the removal of the victim’s body.

There they cordoned off the entire quadrant to collect the evidence of the attack and make way for the Forensic Medicine vehicle.

In the sector, the neighbors were alarmed by the shots and persecution, since in that area there were children playing and they could have been hit by the projectiles.

Uniformed took versions of witnesses at the site. Additionally, it was verified if there were private surveillance cameras that have recorded the fact, to have more evidence.

Last night there was also a murder on 39th Street, between Sedalana and Oriente, in the suburb of Guayaquil.

Uniformed officers went to the site to investigate this case. They also transferred the body to the Judicial Police morgue. (YO)
