According to the police chief of the Ceibos district, Cristhian Meléndez, the two subjects were arrested after a chase.
They had used a plastic weapon, which was crushed by one of the vehicles during the chase.
“They dropped it at the time of the kidnapping attempt and in the pursuit it was destroyed, it was practically a toy weapon,” said the officer at the Modelo Barracks, the place where the detainees were taken after capturing them.
He added that they are working with the Anti-Kidnapping Unit to define what really happened, why they wanted to kidnap this senior official.
Meléndez added that the individuals have no prior records, however, the kidnapping attempt was recorded and that investigations are being carried out because it would be an organization.

This event was recorded at 8:00 p.m. yesterday, Friday, February 10, when the subjects took advantage of the fact that the official was already arriving at his home and took the opportunity to intercept him and threaten him with that weapon.
However, the doctor was able to run away to ask for help.
Colleagues and relatives of the official asked that the investigations continue, because they fear for his safety, as well as that of other officials. (YO)
