St. Petersburg is located on the northern periphery of Cyclone Robert. It will cause fog, snow and ice. This was announced by the leading specialist of the weather center “Phobos” Mikhail Leus.

The air temperature is from 0 to plus 2 degrees, in the region from minus 4 to plus 1 degree. North wind 4-9 m/s. Atmospheric pressure will increase and will be 759 mm Hg. Art., that is, about the norm.

On Sunday, mostly without precipitation, frosty night, and a slight thaw is expected in the late evening.

Leus also noted that the St. Petersburg dam prevented the 32nd sea surge flood. With closed gates of protective structures, the maximum water level from the side of the Gulf of Finland was +168 cm. Wind gusts reached 25 m/s.

Petersburgers observed the rarest meteorological phenomenon last Friday – snow rolls. For the formation of this weather phenomenon, a combination of several elements is necessary: it must snow, and rather sleet with large snowflakes (flakes), the air temperature must be slightly above zero with a strong “uniform” wind, without gusts.
