The Ecuadorian Army discovered a clandestine pool where fuel was stolen that was stolen from a pipeline that transports hydrocarbon in the province of Sucumbíos, in the northern area of ​​Ecuador.

Smuggling gangs often pierce the pipeline in low-visibility and low-access areas of the country.

This time, the Army discovered that in the sector known as Aguarico 3, in the Shushufindi canton, on the northern border of the country, there was a clandestine installation of valves and hoses for the transfer of fuel that was then apparently taken to Colombia for processing. of the coca leaf.

“They built an artisanal pool with the capacity to store approximately 250 gallons of hydrocarbon derivatives, presumably white gasoline,” said the Selva 19 Napo Battalion, through a statement, this Thursday 11.

At the site, 150 meters of hose and other tools were also found that were used for the illegal activity.

The operation was carried out by military personnel from the 54 Capital Calles Special Operations Battalion in Selva, dependent on the Selva 19 Napo brigade. No detainees were reported.

The evidence was made available to the competent authorities to proceed with the corresponding administrative and legal procedures. (I)
