The body of a policeman on active duty was found this Thursday morning in a building on Rumichaca and Manuel Galecio streets, in downtown Guayaquil.
The uniformed man died in the early morning. Neighbors of that sector indicated that it is presumed that he would have been scopolaminated by foreign citizens.
According to the police report, in the apartment where the body was found, only the keys to his car were found, which were recovered blocks later.
He did not have other belongings such as his cell phone, wallet, so it is believed that he was also a victim of robbery.

Colonel Pablo Fajardo, of the National Police, indicated that the autopsy will determine the exact causes of death of this uniformed officer and that at the moment it is verified in which jurisdiction and unit he belongs, in addition to why he was in that place.
Neighbors of that sector commented that the uniformed man arrived at that department because a young man helped him when he was walking disoriented after being scopolamined.
This morning the same young man gave the notice that the policeman was not reacting, so they alerted ECU911 and an ambulance arrived with paramedics who confirmed his death.
According to witnesses, people arrive in that building to rent rooms for one night or weeks.
Uniforms from the 9 de Octubre district arrived at the site, as well as Dinased and Criminalistics agents to gather evidence of this new death.
