Russian citizens made 23.2 million foreign trips in 2022, of which almost 7 million were tourist trips. This was reported by Interfax with reference to the statistics of the Border Guard Service of the FSB of the Russian Federation.
For the purpose of tourism, Russians made 6.9 million trips abroad. Most of these trips occurred in the third quarter of the year – 2.4 million. In the first and second quarters, approximately the same number of tourists went abroad – 1.17 and 1.16 million, respectively. In the fourth quarter, 2.15 million tourists left.
In 2022, Russians actively visited Turkey; thousand). Egypt closes the top three (761.5 thousand, minus 5%).
According to statistics, the top five most popular countries also included Armenia and Thailand: Russians made 295.7 and 171.4 thousand trips there, respectively. The sixth place was taken by Uzbekistan – 131.6 thousand trips. Following are Kazakhstan (113.3 thousand), Maldives (94.5 thousand), Azerbaijan (92.7 thousand) and Dominican Republic (76.1 thousand).
The total number of trips abroad in 2022 increased by 2 million compared to the previous year. Turkey became the leader among destinations for all destinations – 4.8 million trips, followed by Abkhazia (4.2 million). Following are Kazakhstan (2.7 million), the United Arab Emirates (1.2 million) and Egypt (947 thousand).
