Mount Sinai Hospital will hire around 1,400 workers; in the second semester there will be a new call

Around 1,400 workers will be hired by the Government for the Monte Sinai hospital in Guayaquil, which is part of the Ministry of Public Health (MSP) network.

That State portfolio had summoned —last January— professionals to apply for 765 jobs in the process of recruitment and selection of personnel for that health home.

The Minister of Health, José Ruales, indicated that an additional $22 million has been allocated, which allowed the first call for personnel to be made, including professionals, technicians, nurses, and specialists.

Regarding that health home, he added that its opening had begun when the pandemic started, and there was a plan to open 491 beds until 2024; but, after a visit by President Guillermo Lasso, it was decided to shorten the time.

He announced that in the second half of 2023 there will be a new call for some 700 new professionals.

That, he explained, will allow the opening of the 340 beds that are still missing.

Part of that health home —he added— is directed to contingency to care for maternity that was given at the University Hospital while it was being rebuilt.

The idea is to expand the services and operate with full capacity.

“We observed that there were many referrals to the private sector, because the hospitals did not have supplies or because there was a problem in the management of the operating rooms, etc. We are resuming that, ”he said in a radio interview. harmonica

In the Francisco de Icaza and Guasmo hospitals, he assured, emergency operating rooms have been opened.

Ruales pointed out that they have summoned 174 new specialists last week at the Eugenio Espejo hospital in Quito, and the same will be done between February and March in other hospitals.

He affirmed that in 2023 there will be an increase of 2,500 health professionals, most of them specialists, and 1,300 doctors, nurses and family health specialists have been summoned to health centers.

In an event for the donation of vaccines from the Government of Spain against polio, held at the Las Casas health center, in the north of Quito, Ruales said that 50 health centers will be expanded or repowered and maintenance will be given to 600 of those establishments. (YO)
