Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu spoke about the continuation of offensive operations by Russian units in the Donetsk and Zaporozhye operational areas.
According to him, active progress is being made towards Artemovsk and Vugledar. Soledar, Kleshcheevka, Podgornoe, Krasnopolye, Blagodatnoe, Lobkove, and Nikolaevka have already been liberated, the minister said at a conference call in the military department.
He stressed that the Russian Armed Forces are operating successfully, despite the constant assistance provided by the West to Kyiv, they “continue to grind” the supplied weapons both on the line of contact and on the way to it.
As the head of the Ministry of Defense explained, Ukrainian troops are suffering serious losses. “In the first month of this year alone, they amounted to more than 6,500 military personnel, 26 aircraft, 7 helicopters, 208 unmanned aerial vehicles, 341 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 40 combat vehicles of multiple launch rocket systems,” he said.
At the same time, Shoigu noted, the supply of weapons by Western countries leads to NATO being drawn into the conflict and can contribute to “an unpredictable level of its escalation.”
