When do the tickets for the COAC 2023 final in Cádiz go on sale?

There are still 10 days left for the final of the Official Contest of Carnival Groups (coac) of Cádiz, which is still in the quarterfinal phase, but dozens, hundreds of people are constantly keeping an eye on the Cadiz institutional sources waiting for them to give notice of the moment in which the sale process of tickets for the grand finale

But do you already know when they will go on sale? The truth is that no: the Cádiz City Council usually notifies the same day that they are put up for sale, as it has been doing with the previous phases. Of course, tickets sell out very quickly: those for the COAC semifinal, which takes place in three sessions between February 13 and 15, went on sale last Saturday and the same day there were no more. But it also happened before the qualifying phase began: all the seats for each and every one of the 15 sessions that the preliminary phase lasted were immediately sold.

From the Cádiz City Council they insist that when the date on which they are put up for sale is known, it will be made public, but in the last edition, at the 2022 COAC, the tickets for the grand finale were put up for sale six days before the last performances. Before, at the 2020 COAC (in 2021 it was suspended due to the pandemic), they were much more farsighted and tickets went on sale 20 days before the day of the final: This time it was the first time it was done this way, putting an end to the raffles in which instead of buying the ticket directly, a ticket was requested.

However, the COAC ticket raffles left plenty of room for the people of Cádiz will stay out: although resale was avoided, “more than 30,000 requests were received from different parts of Spain”, so “the chances that the people of Cádiz could attend the Grand Final of their carnival contest were few”, he told ‘La voice of Cádiz’ for more than three years now the Councilor for Culture and Festivals of Cádiz, Lola Cazalilla.

How many tickets go on sale and how to buy them

The Gran Teatro Falla in Cádiz has a capacity of 1,214 spectatorsdivided between seats, boxes, amphitheater and chicken coop, which in the specific case of the Cadiz coliseum is known as The Paradise. In the absence of the information being specified, it is likely that there will be a time when they are put up for sale on the Internet and another, on the same day but at a different time, physically at a point of sale.

For quarterfinal tickets, 50% of the tickets were put on sale online and the rest physically, with a price of between 20 euros (in The Paradise) and 40 euros (in seats, stalls box and main box). For physical tickets there is a limitation of purchase of two tickets maximum per personand these were registered and were identified with the DNI of the person who had bought it.

The day the tickets for the COAC semifinal sessions went on sale, they sold out online in about 15 minutes, so the opening time of the physical point was brought forward from 10:00 a.m. to 9:40 a.m. to buy the rest in person.

Tickets online are purchased on the Bacantix website, where you have to be registered. You can buy tickets without being registered, but in the process you will have to fill in several personal data fields and that can cause you to have some other problem and run out of tickets. Already last year, the City Council recommended registering in advance to minimize the time invested in the ticket purchase process. To carry out the registration process, you will only have to fill in your information, starting from the ‘Register now’ option that appears in the upper right part of the Bacantix website of the Cádiz City Council.
