Due to a significant increase in prices for new household appliances in Russia, the demand for their repair has sharply increased, RIA Novosti reports with reference to Alexander Semochkin, head of the Repair and Installation of Appliances department of the Avito service.
According to the service, in January 2023, the number of requests for the repair of large household appliances increased by 76% compared to January last year, and small ones by 43%.
As Semochkin said, among large household appliances, customers were primarily interested in the repair of washing machines and dishwashers, air conditioners, stoves and ovens, among small appliances, the repair of coffee machines, microwaves and food processors was popular.
“According to our forecasts, the demand for household appliance repair services will continue to grow in the foreseeable future,” Semochkin said, explaining that due to rising prices for new appliances, consumers prefer to repair old appliances, especially since the average cost of repairs, despite increase in demand remained the same.
