Edwin Romero, lawyer for four National Police officers, referred this Friday, February 3, to a video that circulated after the multiple murder that occurred on Saturday, January 28, in an urbanization located on Avenida León Febres-Cordero, jurisdiction from Daule.
Four men and a boy were killed the morning of that day. And according to a police source, hours before that massacre a party was held in the same house attended by police, military and traffic agents.
Who are the people murdered in a Daule housing estate?
In fact, one of the victims was identified as an active police officer, who belonged to the Florida district and served in the Martha de Roldós citadel sector as a motorist.
Another of the victims was a former police officer who was discharged in 2021 and who lived in the same urbanization where the multiple crime was perpetrated.
As a result of this violent act, a video circulated in which, according to lawyer Edwin Romero, four National Police officers appear on active duty who are directly incriminated at the supposed party that took place before the multiple murder.
“These official gentlemen who appear in that video on the day of the events, that is, on the 27th, 28th (January), before, during and after, they were in the city of Quito. They have never been in the city of Guayaquil, even worse in the home where the death of these citizens was carried out”, said the jurist at a press conference offered in the capital of the Republic.
Romero pointed out that the video in which the uniformed men appear is from “many years ago” and was captured in the house of an officer and a lawyer. A birthday was celebrated there and the agents were with their families, in Quito.
But because of that video that is linked to the murder that occurred in the Daule urbanization, according to the lawyer, the institution has already “dispersed” the officers.
Three out of four of his clients, he said, have been sent to Guayaquil, Manta and Quevedo.
“Criminalizing them as murderers the moment they have reported to their home units. The police leadership, the Minister of the Interior (Juan Zapata), is asked not to disseminate false information through these channels. That the National Police itself, through its Department of Internal Affairs, investigate and not criminalize, as it has done to the three officers,” he emphasized.

In total, $380,000 in cash, three pairs of license plates, a pistol-type weapon, ammunition, communication radios, a computer and uniforms similar to those of law enforcement officers were found in the home of the murdered ex-police officer.
