In the Kholmsky district in the south of Sakhalin, a school bus got into an accident. Five children and two adults were injured, according to regional emergency services.
As the head doctor of the district hospital told reporters, after the accident, eight children were taken to the doctors, five of them “obviously have some kind of injury.” “All eight children are now being examined by surgeons, traumatologists, neurologists, our medical psychologist has been invited,” the doctor emphasized.
The administration of the Kholmsky district told journalists that two adults from the car involved in the accident were also injured. The traffic police department for the Sakhalin region TASS clarified that a school bus, a passenger car and two fuel trucks were involved in the accident. All circumstances of the accident are established.
According to the district authorities, the bus picked up children from the villages of Pozharskoye and Pyatirechye in the morning to take them to a school in the village of Chaplanovo, Kholmsky district. It contained 11 children aged 7 to 16 years. All of them were wearing seat belts, the driver observed the speed limit – no more than 60 km / h.
