The police of Mordovia searched for the mother of two newborn girls found in a cardboard box near one of the houses in the city of Krasnoslobodsk, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the republic reports.
According to the department, a box with babies wrapped in diapers was found on October 29 last year near a private house. The girls were taken to the hospital, now they are all right. For information about the mother of the twins, the Ministry of Internal Affairs announced a reward of 250 thousand rubles.
As a result, the criminal investigation department received information about the alleged identity of the mother of the newborns. Law enforcement officers checked this information and confirmed it. It was found that the girls were born by a 37-year-old resident of one of the regions of Mordovia. A woman who already has three children was not registered for pregnancy, the birth took place at home. A day after the incident, she asked a relative to “take her with the children to any locality in order to leave the girls on the street,” the release says.
The suspect said that she does not live with the father of the twins, while she has a husband. She did not tell anyone about pregnancy and childbirth. The incident is being investigated as part of a criminal case on “leaving in danger”.
As the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Mordovia clarifies, the remuneration to the resident of the republic, who helped to establish the mother of the twins, will be paid after the verdict is passed by the court.
