The Municipality of Samborondón announced this Wednesday, November 10, its security plan that will be applied for the next five years.
The project includes an investment of $ 10 million destined for the installation of 104 devices, the purchase of several boats and the adaptation of a surveillance and traffic center to monitor the devices with a unified command.
60% of the investment ($ 6 million) will come from the budget of the municipality and the Traffic and Surveillance Agency of Samborondón. The remaining 40% will be assumed by citizens (20% will be paid by the commercial sector and 20% by the residential sector), explained Mayor Juan José Yúnez at a press conference held in the Historic Park.

Juan Emilio Kronfle, general manager of the Samborondón Transit and Surveillance Authority, indicated that a study was carried out to determine the city’s hot spots.
He explained that a total of 56 cameras, 10 radars (with thermal cameras), 11 panic totems and 27 speakers will be installed that have a camera that connects with video and audio with the ECU911.
“Each citadel will be given a device connected to the monitoring center, community alarms will be delivered in the cantonal head,” added Mayor Juan José Yúnez.
At the meeting, it was said that in July 2022 the radars on the Babahoyo and Daule rivers with thermal cameras will come into operation and that by January 2023 the command center will already be operating at 100%. (I)
