Members of the Cayambe and Quito Fire Departments and the Army work to control a forest fire registered in the Sayaro community, Juan Montalvo parish.
The fire started on Sunday, since that day the wind has contributed to the consumption of around 300 hectares of pajonal and chaparro.
The place is difficult to access, which is why the presence of two helicopters has been necessary.
The aircraft transferred operational personnel from the Cayambe stadium to the area of the fire.
Downloads have also been applied with the bambi (bag that transports water and downloads from a helicopter).
Preliminarily it is suspected that the fire was provoked, this has not been confirmed until the respective skills are carried out by the experts.
In total, the work of 20 people from the Cayambe Fire Department and 10 from the Quito Fire Department was required.
No injured or deceased person was reported, there are no homes near the place. Although there is a presence of fauna, they have not yet identified any affected species, no animal has died until the last report.

On the morning of this Tuesday, January 31, the fire was controlled, almost in its entirety.
However, gusts of wind reactivate the flames, which is why it is reported that they still have personnel, who will not leave the place until the fire is completely extinguished. (YO)
