With the curiosity that she had to extend her reign due to the pandemic, the current queen of the capital, Estefanía Borrero, will have to hand over the scepter to one of the ten candidates during the election night scheduled for next Thursday, November 25.
This 2021, the election of the Queen of Quito was again sponsored by the Metropolitan Municipality of the Ecuadorian capital. Last night the presentation of the ladies who will seek to become the new sovereign was completed.
The 10 candidates are:

The presentation of the candidates was held at the Terravalle Tennis Club, which welcomed hundreds of guests and families of the young ladies.
Among the attendees and guests were the councilor and president of the Quito Festival Commission, René Bedón, representing Mayor Santiago Guarderas; the councilors Luz Elena Coloma and Bernardo Abad; The Queen of Quito 2019-2021, Estefanía Barreno and her court of honor, the President of the Queen of Quito Foundation, María Caridad del Castillo.
The Vice President of the Reina de Quito Foundation, María Teresa Donoso, stressed that the election will once again begin the city’s founding festivities. He stressed the work with a social focus carried out by the foundation that brings together 32 former queens of Quito committed to promoting the work of the queen and her court and carrying out the care of the Therapeutic Center that currently serves around 100 boys and girls with Down Syndrome .
One by one the ten candidates paraded and presented their projects and work proposals that the Queen will assume this year and which focus on two themes: Citizen Values and Economic Reactivation through Entrepreneurship.
Among the awards this year for whoever is chosen are: a Hyundai vehicle, a postgraduate degree from the San Francisco University of Quito, Hairdressing all year round in Camilo Mideros, one year in Phisique, María Fernanda Jácome furniture, Makiatto by Paulina shoes Come on.
As for the crown for the queen, the Cristian Quintero company will be in charge of its endowment, it was explained in a statement. (E)
