In the Stavropol Territory, an ambulance driver knocked down a pensioner without noticing her behind the car, according to the regional traffic police department.
According to preliminary data, the incident occurred in the courtyard of an apartment building in the city of Lermontov. “The ambulance driver, moving in the courtyard in reverse, allowed a collision with a woman who was behind the vehicle. Only when he made a U-turn did he notice that he had committed an accident, ”the agency said in a Telegram channel.
A 69-year-old woman was taken to the intensive care unit with a severe head injury.
The ambulance was driven by a 58-year-old local resident who was sober at the time of the accident, has a driving experience of 22 years, and has not been held liable for traffic violations over the past two years. The accident is under investigation.
At the same time, the Minister of Health of the Stavropol Territory, Vladimir Kolesnikov, said that the vehicle “does not belong to medical institutions under the jurisdiction of the regional Ministry of Health,” but added that “regardless of departmental affiliation, the regional authorities represented by the regional Ministry of Health will sort out the situation.”
