“For eating rabbits”, that was the excuse given by the owners of Sergeant, a dog that was mistreated and whose aggression was captured on video. After the video went viral on social networks, the Animal Welfare Unit (UBA) of the Municipality of Quito went with officials to the home located in Guamaní, south of Quito.
In the place they identified Sergeant, they immediately realized that it was an animal with signs of fear. It was not for less, in the video, a man picks up the dog and hits it against the floor, then hits its head and kicks it at the height of its stomach. At that moment Sergeant managed to run, however, the man took a broomstick and went after him. What happened next was no longer recorded.
In the place, the members of UBA recorded the procedure, the presence of cats, other dogs and chickens could be seen. A woman attended to the officials and explained that her nephew was the one who reprimanded the dog for having crushed the head of a rabbit.
