The world has not yet prepared properly for possible new epidemics. This is stated in the report of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.

According to the organization, despite three years of anti-COVID measures, the governments of different countries in terms of responding to epidemiological threats are in no better position than in 2019. As noted by the Red Cross, countries should not exclude from consideration the prospect of encountering “multiple risk factors” at once, and not just one.

For example, natural disasters in the world are becoming more frequent, and coronavirus has become just one of the infectious diseases that humanity has to deal with.

The international organization also called on the countries of the world to increase healthcare spending to 1% of their GDP by 2025.

The WHO has previously stated that COVID-19 continues to be a public health emergency and its prevalence is still high.
