The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan explained why they made changes to the legislation that abolished the “vizaran”. As the local portal Informburo writes, the department said that the “visaran” was actually canceled in order for people to comply with the country’s migration legislation.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs emphasized that there are certain conditions for a long stay in the country, for example, it is necessary to obtain a temporary residence permit.

“To avoid all this, they traveled back and forth,” the department said.

Recall, on January 27, new rules for entry and stay in the country for foreigners came into force in Kazakhstan. They suggest the abolition of the so-called “visaran”. Now foreigners arriving in Kazakhstan without a visa will be able to legally stay in the country for 30 days, and in total – up to 90 days during one calendar period of 180 days.

Citizens of the EAEU countries will be able to stay in the country for 90 days, but only for one calendar period of 180 days. An early version of the resolution did not contain restrictions on stay for six months.
