Credits for tourism of up to $20,000 at 5% already reach entrepreneurs. Here the requirements

The President of the Republic, Guillermo Lasso, together with the president of the board of directors of BanEcuador, Mauricio Salem, and the Minister of Tourism, Niels Olsen, announced the credit incentive for the tourism sector Reactivate Tourism at 5%. It is a credit from $5,001 to $20,000 at 5% and a ten-year term. At the same time, they made the first credits in a ceremony in which giant (symbolic) checks were delivered to the beneficiaries.

According to BanEcuador, this sustainable reactivation credit is a credit product with an easily accessible preferential rate, aimed at entrepreneurs and tourism businessmen, whose benefits are part of the incentives executed from the national government.

Who can access this credit?

  • Those who maintain a productive activity and are registered as providers of tourist services.
  • But they must also have registered sales in the last year that are equal to or less than $100,000.
  • Beneficiaries may be located in the rural or urban sector.

First credits delivered

Last week the first credits began to be delivered in the new international route from General Eloy Alfaro de Manta Airport. Rosa Intriago, who is dedicated to the preparation of typical dishes from the province of Manabí, received an amount of $15,000. Meanwhile, Valeria Delgado will readjust her food processing business with the credit received for $20,000 and finally Jorge Tamayo received $20,000 that he will use to reactivate productivity in the hotel sector.

“From the tourism sector we feel very motivated with the 5% reactivation credit promoted by the national government, through BanEcuador. In this way, we continue to show the world that we have become a destination with a quality tourist service thanks to the initiative of President Guillermo Lasso”, mentioned Tamayo, one of the beneficiaries.

Meanwhile, the President of the Republic, William Lasso, explained the importance of the initiative. “We will benefit 2,000 businesses that have a tourist registry and employment is generated in different areas,” he said.

The Ministry of Tourism has worked for the viability of this product through coordination with tourism service providers that have a record of this productive activity. To access the registry of tourist servers, you must enter the website https://siturin.turismo.gob.ec/login. The process is automatic and completely free.

According to BanEcuador, through this initiative the tourism sector can highlight the unique characteristics that surround our country and that make us one of the most visited destinations in the world.

The bank reported through an official statement that the only source of sustainable development of our economy is the diversification of financial products directed to each one of the Ecuadorians in order to develop their potential.

In this sense, BanEcuador is seeking to develop other products similar to this tourist credit, but now focused on the agricultural sector and in the productive sector in general. (YO)
