These are the two main roads in Quito that will be closed from Monday 30 and Tuesday 31 January

Drivers and pedestrians in Quito must take the respective precautions to move on different routes in the north of Quito.

The road rehabilitation of Amazonas and 10 de Agosto avenues, in highly congested sections, may generate an increase in traffic in this sector.

As of January 30, the passage on Amazonas avenue will be closed, in the section that runs from Río Coca avenue to Gaspar de Villarroel. The execution of these works will take 70 days.

Alternate routes that drivers can take are as follows:

North – South direction South direction – north
The Inca Avenue San Cristobal Island
Avenue La Prensa Rio Coca Avenue

As of January 31, the rehabilitation of the eight lanes of Avenida 10 de Agosto between the interchanges of El Labrador and “La Y” will begin. Work will begin with the four central lanes.

Alternative routes to avoid this closed section are:

The municipal authorities announced that they will have a contingent of traffic agents from the AMT to expedite vehicular traffic.
