Two residents of the Angara region received a sentence for beating traffic police inspectors

In the Irkutsk region, a court sentenced two residents of the city of Zima to four years in prison each for attacking traffic police inspectors. This is reported by TASS with reference to the press service of the Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the region.

“They were found guilty of committing a crime under Part 2 of Art. 318 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Use of violence dangerous to life or health against representatives of the authorities”)… Taking into account the opinion of the prosecutor, they were sentenced to imprisonment for a term of four years, each with serving a sentence in a general regime colony, ”the report says .

According to the press service of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Irkutsk Region, on the night of February 26, 2022 in the city of Zima, a traffic police crew stopped a taxi car to check documents. The two drunken passengers first made obscene language about the police officers. “After that, after getting out of the car, they inflicted multiple punches and kicks on law enforcement officers,” the press service added. Doctors diagnosed the victims with a broken nose, a closed dislocation of the shoulder and other injuries.
