Oswaldo Segura played Felipe in the popular television series of the 80s my adorable entrenados and Sandra Pareja embodied his eternal and rejected lover, Maribel, whom he mockingly called the Ferrule. In real life they have not separated.
They are both very joking and that makes them maintain a very good working relationship. Friendship comes as a bonus, he believes.
“Really, Shakira already exaggerates,” says Oswaldo Segura, the actor who plays Felipe in “Mis adorables entenados,” commenting that there aren’t as many submissive women as Lupita, her stepmother in the series
1.- How did Oswaldo Segura meet Sandra Pareja?
Sandra Pareja was a student at the El Juglar school. She was 16, 15 years old; she was still at school. She was a skinny. She went up to the second floor of El Juglar and was amazed at the rehearsals; she wanted to learn theater and stayed. And now, well, we all know the quality of person and the quality of professional that Sandra is.
Sandra Pareja, the beloved Virola of Teatro La Mueca, talks about her profession, her family, her plans and why she doesn’t like micro-theater
2.- How did this character who joined the eyes and ended up called Maribel? the Ferrule?
Well, Tati Interllige (creator of what is considered one of the best series in Ecuador) discovers it. We wanted to put a character on her. And Sandra, when she started to wash and when she didn’t like something: “Mmm…”, she would make her face and roll her eyes, and that made us laugh. She then says to him: ‘Why don’t you make yourself a character like that, but keep it?’ She tried it, it was perfect and it stayed.
3.- In the series, Maribel always followed Felipe; but, in the real and private life of Oswaldo Segura, Sandra Pareja is always present in a different way, but she is there.
Of course. In other words, we have been working together for many years: we have been working together for more than 30 years. And for me it is an honor to work with Sandra. I consider her one of the best actresses the country has.
4.- What is your relationship: friends or co-workers?
I think we are more coworkers than friends. In other words, when you’re a friend, you’re a friend to go wash, go dancing, talk, everything. But, when you are a partner, there is more respect, you work for something, you have to get something, you are on schedule, you comply. So what is friend comes in addition.
5.- Have you ever had a fight? Who apologized?
Yes. For example, there is an offense, you accidentally raise your voice, you accidentally say something and… Well, people are susceptible, and artists even more so: we get offended very quickly. If I make the mistake, I go and say: “Sandra, I was wrong”. And she the same.
