In the Santa Elena peninsula there is caution after the murder of Carlos Omar Kada Asencio. He was a native of a precinct in the Chanduy parish, in the south of that province, but part of his life had been in the canton of La Libertad.
Born in 1987, Kada had court records for cases that were opened in different years, involving extortion, drug trafficking, breach of trust and wrongful death.
He was murdered on Saturday at a Pedro Carbo farm along with his partner, Allison Aranea, and Víctor Ube, his driver.
He currently did not register a prison order or measure against him, so the Police did not arrest him when he suffered the attack on January 6 in the Kennedy sector.

That day, while he was driving through that citadel in a high-end armored car, he was attacked by hit men who shot him. He emerged with minor injuries and was taken to a hospital.
Six days later, a group entered the Omni Hospital, in the north of Guayaquil, to try to liquidate Kada. In the midst of the situation, Kada’s custodians clashed with the hitmen. One of them died in an elevator.
Allison Aranea, Carlos Kada’s partner, had managed to file a complaint for the first armed attack she suffered in the Kennedy sector. In the middle of that attack, Jairon Gamarra, who worked in a vehicle yard, died. He was a collateral victim.
For this case, two people were arrested, Luciano AM and José GV, who are in pretrial detention for murder.
They are from the province of El Oro. The second has extensive judicial records for cases of murder, robbery and homicide. It is presumed that they participated in the first attack on Kada.
For the second armed attack that took place at the Omni Hospital, a Venezuelan and a Colombian are detained: Carlos Daniel LV and Óscar L. V, who are in pretrial detention. In that raid, a person died, who is believed to be one of the hitmen who tried to kill Kada, on the second attempt.

Almost two days after the murder of Kada in Pedro Carbo, the Police have not reported any detainees or the presumed suspects.
Kada had taken refuge in the north of Guayas and part of his family accompanied him. There were women and children in the place.
On the day of the crime, the hitmen wore clothing similar to that of the Police. They had said that the issue was not with those companions and they had forced them to go into a bathroom. Then they fled taking the car keys.
It is being investigated whether he had acquired the property where Kada was taking refuge, far from the Peninsula. In Baquerano, the area where the property is located, it is said that the farm has gone through several owners.
