High levels of ultraviolet radiation could be recorded in certain locations in Ecuador, this Monday, January 23, between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

According to the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (Inamhi), in localities of the Litoral, Inter-Andean and Galapagos regions the highest rates could be registered.

Inamhi’s national forecast indicated that there would be extremely high radiation in provinces such as Santa Elena, Bolívar and Loja.
For this reason, he recommended that citizens wear long-sleeved clothing, a cap, glasses, an umbrella, and sunscreen.
In provinces like Manabí, Pichincha, Guayas or Cotopaxi, there would be very high radiation with the same recommendations regarding the clothing to wear.
In Zamora Chinchipe, Morona Santiago, Pastaza, the rate will be high, which is why it is suggested to wear long-sleeved clothing, a cap, glasses, and sunscreen.
