Police rescued a foreign teenager, alleged victim of sexual exploitation

A 15-year-old foreign adolescent who was apparently being moved against her will for sexual exploitation purposes was rescued at the offices of an interprovincial transportation cooperative.

As reported by the National Police, after a job between Ecuador and Colombia, in the early hours of this Sunday, January 22, agents specialized in human trafficking managed to recover the girl.

They slept on mattresses on the floor, without a roof to cover themselves: this is how they found eight minors who were allegedly exploited at work by their mother, who was arrested

Through operation “Redemption I”, a team of agents from the National Investigation Unit against Trafficking in Persons and Illicit Smuggling of Migrants (UNAT) deployed an investigative contingent from the city of Lago Agrio to Quito, where strategic control was applied in the circle of the road to Papallacta.

With preliminary information, it was learned that the adolescent was transferred against her will through deceit, false promises, and means of coercion, aboard an interprovincial transport bus from the city of Lago Agrio to Huaquillas, in Peru.
