Bulgaria’s chief prosecutor, Ivan Geshev, announced that the investigation found no evidence of the country’s involvement in the terrorist attack on the Crimean bridge. In his social networks, Geshev wrote that, as established by the Sofia city prosecutor’s office, Bulgaria “has nothing to do” with the explosion on the Crimean bridge.
Recall that the explosion occurred on the morning of October 8, 2022. A truck was blown up on the Crimean bridge, as a result of which the tanks of a neighboring freight train caught fire.
According to TASS, a few days after the incident, the Bulgarian special services established that a product with similar characteristics was imported into Bulgaria from another EU country in a container and was properly registered as a transit cargo.
The authorities of the country noted that the cargo left the territory of Bulgaria in the same container through the port of Burgas on September 17, 2022 in the direction of a state that is not Russia. It is especially noted that during the check it was found that the container in which the goods left Bulgaria was not on the blown up truck.
