A uniformed officer from the Traffic and Mobility Agency (ATM) was shot on Carlos Julio Arosemena avenue, north of the city.
The event would have occurred after 8:30 p.m. this Saturday, January 21, 2023. The civil traffic agent identified as Jorge M. was doing work in the northwestern district.

Lieutenant Colonel Christian Rengifo, commander of the Florida district, explained that, according to preliminary information, a subject approached the victim on foot and shot him twice.
The body registered a wound on the right side of the head. Two ballistic signs were found at the site.
Rengifo explained that the perpetrator would have crossed Carlos Julio Arosemena avenue to get into a white vehicle without license plates. The vehicle, at the moment, is reported to be searched in the city and check if it is related to the fact.
At the moment it would be ruled out that it was an assault.

An ambulance arrived at the site to help the uniformed man, but it was only found that the man was without vital signs.
Videos that were broadcast on social networks show several agents who arrived at the scene. Trucks and motorcycles with ATM uniforms were located along the avenue.
