Girl died crushed by heavy machinery in Pedernales

According to a police report, the minor was walking on a street in the sector when the accident with the heavy machine occurred, last Sunday afternoon.

A 2-year-old minor was crushed by a backhoe, known as a redfish, last Sunday afternoon in the fourth stage of the La Jerónima neighborhood, in the city of Pedernales, north of Manabi.

According to a police report, the girl Mabelin Tatiana was walking on a street in the sector when the accident with the heavy machine occurred. As a result, the infant’s body was destroyed.

Her mother and residents who were passing through the area ran to help and try to get the girl who was left under the heavy equipment. They called the fire brigade, who upon arrival confirmed that he no longer had vital signs.

“I heard a scream and immediately went out to see what was happening, I went out and the minor was crushed in the street, totally destroyed,” said one of the residents of the sector.

In the midst of the pain, the mother hugged the body of the minor. That scene caused pain among people who were in the area, said Ramonita Giler, a resident of the sector.

Personnel from the National Police, Prosecutor’s Office and agents of the Directorate of Violent Deaths (Dinased) were mobilized to the site, who began the investigations, the removal of the body and subsequent transfer to the Forensic Center of Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas. (I)
