For Amada Avilés, wearing a white shirt and a light blue and red checkered skirt was emotional. For more than 13 years, she got used to this routine to go to the La Inmaculada Educational Unit, where this Thursday, January 19, she participated in her last day in uniform.
“It’s the last day before starting a new stage, I’m nervous, happy and sad at the same time because we will stop sharing the same classroom with people you may have known since you were a child,” said the third-year high school student.
She, like her colleagues from promotions 91 and 75, participated in a mass in the chapel of the institution located in Eloy Alfaro, between Camilo Destruge and Colombia.

There, the second-year high school students prepared a treat that included the projection of a video with the graphics captured throughout the 2022-2023 school year.
For Susana Saldarriaga this last day represents the transition towards a new chapter of life. “I am convinced of everything I will achieve and achieve,” she said.
In groups of friends and hugging and even with tears, the future high school graduates walked for the last time through the halls and corridors of the institution that welcomed them during their college years.
Sister Margarita Narváez, rector of the school, said that delivering one more promotion to society implies “satisfactorily fulfilling the entrusted educational mission.”
For the institution, he said, it is exciting that students can finish their period as before the pandemic: in the classrooms, in the chapel and with their peers.
“We have maintained the values that are being lost in society. The pandemic taught us to look at life with different eyes. Our students have gone through the harsh experience of the pandemic that helped them to mature”, affirmed the nun.
At La Inmaculada, the second-year high school students organized the farewell that is traditional in the institution for future high school graduates.
At noon a bell is scheduled to be held to celebrate the farewell of the students. During this week, several institutions plan to finish their classes.
For class 48 of the Pan-American High School, located in Samborondón, it was Tuesday the 17th.
A group of 83 students participated in an emotional farewell on campus.

At the San José La Salle Educational Unit, the farewell was Wednesday the 18th. The students of the diamond promotion participated in the last bell on the campus in the center of Guayaquil.
Meanwhile, the Polytechnic College (Copol) had its last day of classes on Wednesday, January 18. There are 81 students graduating in this promotion.
In schools in the north, such as the Guayaquil Naval Academy, the day for third-year high school students is expected to end on Friday the 20th.
Private educational establishments are closing the 2022-2023 school period in the Costa regime since this support begins the school year early. In the case of fiscal institutions, they will have activities until February 22, according to the schedule of the Ministry of Education. (YO)
