Leonardo De La Cruz Vera was killed with several shots on the night of Tuesday, January 17, in the Juan Montalvo cooperative, in the north of Guayaquil, when he was in the doorway of his house playing with his 5-year-old daughter. It was 20:00.
The 33-year-old victim was sitting in her car with the door open watching the girl when another lead vehicle pulled up. Two men got out and shot the man.

The family of the deceased today was inside the house when they heard the burst of shots. When they went out into the street, they found Leonardo in the doorway wounded a few meters from the girl.
They took him to the University Hospital, where the doctors confirmed that he no longer had vital signs. The body was transferred to the morgue.
The man had no criminal record. According to his family, he worked in a radiator workshop.
The Police are still not clear about the reason for the attack, they are still looking for evidence to identify the car in which the hitmen arrived.
