Two people died, six more were taken to hospital as a result of an accident involving a minibus near Stavropol. This is reported by TASS with reference to the regional traffic police department.

“The 26-year-old driver and passenger of the VAZ-2114 (both residents of Khakassia) died on the spot from their injuries. The driver of the Daewoo Nexia and five passengers of the minibus were taken to the hospital,” the statement said.

The collision occurred at about 18:00 on Monday on the 307th km of the Rostov-on-Don-Stavropol highway. According to preliminary data from the regional traffic inspectorate, the VAZ-2114 car hit a Daewoo Nexia car in advance. Both cars drove into the oncoming lane, where there was a collision with a Mercedes Sprinter passenger minibus.

The minibus operated a flight from Krasnodar to Stavropol, there were six passengers in the cabin.

The circumstances of the incident are being clarified, and traffic police are on the scene. The movement of vehicles at the scene is difficult.

The press service of the Investigative Department of the RF Investigative Committee for the region told journalists that an inspection was organized in connection with the accident to ensure that the carrier’s services comply with safety requirements for the life and health of consumers. The investigation was also initiated by the prosecutor’s office. According to the press service of the Stavropol prosecutor’s office, during the inspection, an assessment will be made of compliance with the rules for transporting passengers and road safety.
