Sunday walk in Quito will change its route due to street work

The road works that are being carried out in Quito forced the route of the traditional Sunday walk to be modified.

Starting this Sunday, January 15, 2023, the direction of the route intended for athletes and cyclists in the north of the city will change.

The Public Company for Mobility and Public Works (Epmmop) reported that it is in the rehabilitation of Luis Felipe Borja street, between Tarqui, Estrada and 10 de Agosto avenues. Therefore, a detour of approximately 500 meters will be made.

The authorized route will be from Tarqui avenue to 6 de Diciembre, Juan Montalvo, Piedrahita to Sodiro street, and then join the usual route in La Alameda park.

The Metropolitan Transit Agency (AMT) will deploy an operation for 80 officials to control traffic in that sector. From 08:00 to 16:00 vehicular traffic will be controlled.
